-We start from Piazza San Marco –St. Mark’s Square- to understand why this place has always been the heart of the city for 11 centuries, we continue then with skipping the line (April to October) to visit Saint Mark’s Basilica, the “Golden Church”, our unique byzantine church that was rebuilt in the XI century. We are well aware that by the time you come to Venice you may have seen already many churches, but guarantee this is something special, a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
The next step is the Doge’s Palace, built to be the seat of government, a museum nowadays but not a gallery; we will have the chance to see art works thought to be in the exact spot where they still are located, to end with the famous Bridge of Sighs and the Prisons of the ancient Republic of Venice.
